Np; it's no different than any other asset or good. It's subject to supply and demand. However, to make a dent, huge amounts have to be tossed around. Large players like Central banks and institutions can move it around. Also, we move it around when we buy/sell in currencies. When we buy and sell stocks or other assets, we affect currencies as well since they're bought with their respective currencies typically. For example, the USTs are purchased in USD. You have to buy in USD. If a foreign investor wants USTs, they'll have to sell their currency and buy USD. Now multiply this transaction by millions of people in almost every second of the day. Another example, publicly traded American companies are traded in USD and foreign investors have to sell their own currency to buy American stocks in USD. Some stocks, as a result, have an ADR or will opt to list on an international exchange. The mechanics of which I'm not too familiar, but that has a direct affect on currency. If they trade on another exchange, then investors can trade in that currency. Fun fact: today, $211B of competitive bids for US1M and US2M bills were accepted. As a result, USD was used to purchase these US T-Bills.
