It won't run out of steam entirely because the next leg up is integration with robotics, and from that automation of various things, which have massive uses in manufacturing, and exploration. We can send robots down to the deepest sea beds for months on end. We can get them to mine on the moon, and retrieve samples of rock. We can send them ahead of us to mars to build a ready base. Then there is the medical capabilities such as operations and diagnosis with scans and cameras. Also the creation and production of novel chemicals to treat various illnesses, see alpha fold for the potential there. Then there's novel mental health treatments (and mind expanding drugs). I bet someone has already trained a model on Tikhal and Phikhal to see what it comes up with.. LLM and super chatbots will run out of steam because the novelty has already worn off and the system prompts remove any interesting aspects. I think short sloppy movie making has only just got started. Then there's a potential for a Slopify music app.

US airlines are banks that happen to own airplanes.  The credit card reward structure and selling frequent flyer miles keeps them profitable.  Europe is a very different credit card environment so airlines have to make money actually flying.
