Former driver, on the operations side now, another problem is that trucking companies insurance providers are forcing their hand to do hair follicle drug screens which can go back over 90 days (depending on usage and body weight) when hiring a driver, and a lot of companies will not hire a driver on the SAP program (second chance program for anyone that has had a positive test and trying to remain driving) they have to go through some substance abuse classes, and if they can get someone to hire them they are screened once a month for 12 months, also most companies if you fail the drug screen that’s it you are terminated and Reported immediately.
