I am 44 and I truly feel terrible for anyone younger than me. I bought my first house in 2010 and I got $8000 back to buy it. I bought it for $107500 (then got the 8k). It was a 1500 square-foot all brick ranch on a quarter acre. We sold it in 2019 for 153,000 and bought our current home for 225,000. We then refinanced down to 3.25% one year later. Our house is now estimated to be worth $356,000. I did update the countertops in the kitchen and did a backsplash, but those are the only upgrades and they’re not listed in the estimated price. Luckily, I am in a position that I can save money for my daughter who is almost 12, and I will be able to help her with a down payment on a house but most of the people that are younger than 40 and especially those younger than 30 I feel terrible for them. I do not have a high paying job my wife and my combined income just last year was $130,000 but we got so lucky with timing.

I paid my lawn guys $700 for new mulch in our mulch areas and a full clean up of the entire yard. I have an acre. $3,300 is nuts.
