You could draw a much longer timeline of acquisitions and disposals of cable infrastructure if you want to see how truly, deeply stupid that company is. They've been a masterclass of value destruction for 25 years or more.
The fiber in your front yard is likely for cell towers. We run into it all the time and you are correct that ATT will not use it for anything else. I do directional boring and we hit an unmarked one once and that was the fastest and largest response I have ever seen. We were in the clear as they had closed out our 811 locate ticket as clear/no conflict and there is simply no way to know something like this is in the ground otherwise. No vaults or peds of any kind in the area we were working. On one hand I understand why they won’t let it be used for other purposes, but what I don’t understand is why they didn’t put a second fiber that could be used for residential/businesses in while they originally ran this. I’m sure people much smarter than me know the answer to that though…
CUSTOMER: Hi I’d like an unlimited data/text/minutes plan. VERIZON: Ok. We’ll have your total cost listed on your first bill, which will arrive riiiiight after your 30 day cancellation window. But we can’t tell you the final price before then. AT&T: Ok. Your bill will change 2-4 times before the number stabilizes. We still won’t know exactly what that number is, and will never be able explain the fee structure. T-MOBILE: All righty. If you set up direct pay today, it’s 70$ a month, and 15$ per extra line. That’s out-the-door pricing. We can have you ready to go in the next ten minutes. Otherwise it’ll be 75$ a month. Same for everything else. CUSTOMER: Yeah. How the fuck is that cheaper than the other plans before getting raped with imaginary surcharges?! **This was the actual conversation I had with T-Mobile, Verizon, and AT&T when I switched to T-Mobile. These companies SUCK. How are their analyst ratings anything but dogshit?**
It's a common mistake of rookies. They see past performance like an indication of future results. Usually such performance attract clueless people like journalists to write about it. Example is Bitcoin. People start buying after seeing on the news that it went up 100%. Same with gold. "It's up 50%. It might go up even more". Usually when you see on the news, it means it's time to dump it. Common tactic by the small group that owns the news and the banks.
I can tell you thought this was an insightful truthing but it doesn’t have much to do with the reason I commented on OP. Just don’t lie and post positions when you make a gain post.
Charts in modern apps are nonsense. They don't provide a realistic view of what's happening; they're designed for easy consumption.
If puts end up in the money, there is actually a high chance of them being called. So be ready to buy the shares or face a sudden margin call.
I never liked AT&T and when I was a directv customer the moment it went public AT&T was buying directv I canceled my service and went to local cable company instead. And I really like directv.
3 years is too long still. Compare the 1,2 and 3 year puts. That will tell you what you have to gain in theta between them. Between 2-3 is almost nothing. 2-1 is more but still definitely not worth the year. Even with this mindset of waiting for an upward move I wouldn’t sell beyond a year.
Not sure why this is down voted. This is correct. Droids were specifically Motorola Android models, which at the time was exclusive to Verizon. The campaign was successful enough that some people were calling any Android phone droid, but the marketing campaign for 'Droid' was entirely a Verizon construct trying to give themselves an exclusive phone too.
