arent the AH markets basically isolated from each other, each being a little pool of liquidity contained inside whatever brokerage is facilitating the AH swaps among its own clients? not knowing any better I just assumed the sudden sharp whipsaw swings that often happen when AH switches to Overnight which switches to Premarket and finally (especially) to regular hours are the result of all these different pseudo-markets reconnecting with each other momentarily overnight, and reconnecting with the full regular hours market (and thus with the big institutional guns ) at the start of the trading day.
