In a bear market they lose value fast and may never recover. Backtesting leveraged s&p500 only gives a small overall increase. Though it's impressive that it does at all even holding through every crash. But the s&p500 have been on a faang/mag 7 driven bullrun lately so maybe that distorts the picture.
