I miss when markets were ruthless. I've made more money in QE land though, because its a monetary policy that makes the rich richer. Sorry poors
But man it was so fucking fun to watch companies just get eviscerated on like a 1% miss. "OH a single truck of delivery was delayed, NO BONUS FOR YOUR C-SUITE".
Fucking good times.
I was looking for the China comment. There is a growing sentiment that is starting to look at China as the model for infrastructure development, b/c they get things done so fast.
What’s with all the downvotes? Just giving my honest take. You can’t deny that posting a very nominal sum after nearly a decade is not something to be proud of. If you change your mindset, you’ll realize just how big the opportunity landscape is.
7 years ago I didn’t even think graduating from college was in the cards (just entered my shitty state school after being a straight C student in high school), and since then graduated with a masters from a top tier school with the highest grades possible and now I have a great white collar job at a top tech company, made lots of money in the markets and started a few successful side businesses, and if I keep pushing forward in my career, getting to 7-8 figure levels of comp is not unreasonable.
Plus for another real world example (longer than 7 years but not a drastically different timeline), my father was at best a middle class doctor working at a hospital being highly underpaid (that’s what you get when you work in public service) around 10-12 years ago with less than $1-2M in assets total (and even that’s a generous estimate), but since started and sold a pretty successful private practice and now has a $30M+ net worth (and could potentially be at $100M+ in the next 1-3 years if the current company he’s working on goes well), so a lot can certainly change over a fair (but not infinite) amount of time.
