it's 100% FUD in the majority of cases
check out \[xyz stock\], it's going up (after having already been premarket or morning pumped)!!
redditors who can't tell what a pump and dump is buy in, pumpers (HFs, etc) sell out at a profit, price drops, retail loses money
the idea is to draw attention away from the real goal, and also add funds to their pools for the fight over stocks like GME
RKT, SNDL, PLTR, SOS, etc are all pump and dumps designed to;
a) get people to dump shares of GME (that's only been moving sideways this week)
b) make /r/wallstreetbets appear like members are colluding to manipulate a particular stock
c) make /r/wallstreetbets seem like an unreliable source of information (if everyone keeps losing money on whatever stocks are mentioned it stops people from listening)
d) make the HFs/etc with heavy short positions in GME money to continue to pay fees/etc
The pattern of all of these stocks is EXACTLY the same. They go up 10-15% pre market or in the morning, multiple posts appear on reddit about the price increases. The price goes up a bit higher when retail swarms to the stock, and then it crashes by afternoon when HFs/etc pull out.
They are manipulating reddit/retail because they know it's a wide reach and that a handful of carefully designed posts with fancy charts/graphs/gain porn will get a bunch of people to jump on very easily.
why did I buy a weedstock. Why did I buy SNDL?

Every time duriing European times I think it is a good idea, every time during US times, i hate the ideas...
