They are one of the only companies heavily pushing r&d at this point, they miss quite a bit but most of the tech companies have gutted their physical r&d departments. Meta will be ahead of the crowd in miniaturized compute products sooner or later because of the constant r&d in wearables. The only company at this size I can think of that fully explores the product stack in this way is apple.
