It does daily.  The emotional toll of not having a retirement plan is a common complaint of the broke people on Reddit.  Life is a lot better when you know you have money to fall back on and stop working before 55-60.

That sucks man. It seems so easy and of course I know it's not. Just today someone posted 200% gains on spy 0DTE and yesterday someone went 8k to 126k riding the qqq rally. The guy with the 200% was saying how he just started doing this and got a bunch, it dipped, so he went all in and it just so happened to time the bottom. I was in too, some trade, 3 calls vs 600, and it's hard to avoid the what ifs when one guesses exactly right (683today) even knowing it was luck and could have gone the other way. Looking back, what do you think were the main issues? The way I see it, people do hit the jackpot quite a bit, yet most don't get to keep the gains. Is it a matter of discipline, is it greed, fomo, revenge trading? All one needs to do is ride the 0DTE for about.25% to double what they put in. Why does that look so simple yet it's so hard to do ?

So sorry man! I hope that you recover from this. I had my share at $SPY PUTS, first time I think I had decent gains. The 2nd time I got destroyed. Switched to calls & portfolio is better. I learnt that the best thing about shorting $SPY is... you don't. Every trade is different, not sure what your trades were but here is a general advice man!... 35% $SPY is tech, AI is not a boom, the hype/gains might limit as we move forward but I don't see it slowing down. You might get lucky shorting it here & there but you really need a liberation day tariff fall to really make any dent.
