On employment:
Trump 🥭: A 10% global tariff could add 2.8 million jobs.
Economists 🧐: Tariffs are more like to cause layoffs.
What really happened 🤓: Jobs have averaged 39K/month recently. Jerome Powell believes the jobs numbers are overstated by 60/K month. So we've been losing 21K jobs/month
The real Reddit OGs remember the thread "How would you get a small cylinder unstuck from a mini M&Ms tube filled with butter and microwaved mashed banana?"
Fortune puts out distorted sensational trash. Anyone telling you AI is causing layoffs, we're about to have a crash as a result is spreading lies and nonsense.

>You mean like the JOLTS data that was cited in the article?
No. I was referring to jobless claims data which is very high quality.
JOLTS is based on surveys. However even JOLTS data shows mega low layoffs and discharges BELOW pre-Covid levels.

Cool idea tbh. If this kills like 10 percent of the “trust me bro” MS paint PnL posts I am 100 percent in.
Only concern is privacy and brokerage API stuff so as long as that part is airtight this could actually be sick for verifying real degens vs storytellers.
Really weird how people keep saying AI has nothing to do with jobs rn
