Not for pickups if you want to tow. Range to tow a 5000 lb camper takes 100 miles off the 310 mile range, and then takes ~40 minutes to charge to 80%. It takes ~150 miles off of the range with a 7000 lb. Average cost to charge from 15% to 85% has been just north of $40. Ecoboost and 5.0 will get between 8-12 mpg towing 7000 lb and hold 26 gallons in a tank. It costs significantly more, but there is no planning involved. You can fill up anywhere and you only have to wait a couple minutes if all the pumps are occupied. The only reason to not get an EV for anything other than a truck that you will tow with or a large SUV, in my view, is if you rent a place that does not have the ability to charge at home. Otherwise, it is silly to buy an ice car if you are buying anything newer than 10 years old.
