I love this Hail Mary play. Timing with the Rivian announcement can't be a coincidence.
SpaceX has failed every heavy test they've tried so far. They can't even get it to not shed it's tiles. They can't prove in-flight refueling is possible even once, let alone the double digit amount of times it has to do so without failing once to get to its destination. On top of that Tesla is bleeding itself dry.
But somehow this company is worth $800B and the CEO deserves $1T
I think the problem is calling it data centres. On a smaller scale, this makes a lot of sense. But even then, it’s not communication satellites, but any satellite doing any science.
That has real value, but it’s never going to match a single data center, nor would we want it to.
Overtaken by who? There aren’t ANY other real competitors. They beat everyone on price AND performance, and we don’t see the tens of billions of investments in other companies to even try to come close.
The space market is essentially Europe doing its own stuff at 5x the cost, and SpaceX.
What is the moat? Please tell me.
We have Blue Origin, 3 other Chinese companies. Do you believe in 10-20 years that the gap between spacex and these companies will widen or shorten? Does spacex have some super special patents that no other company can reproduce?
