AMZN was up 2.5% on Cyber Monday, last year (12/2/24), and was up 7.75% for that week (12/2/24 - 12/6/24). Yep, information about annual versus 1 week sales will be the most insightful to see if consumer spending is up overall or shifted to Costco style bulk buying consumer habits to try to save money on purchases. I waited 6-12 months tracking prices until items I had my eye on ended up finally dropping during black friday, and there was 20% cash back on pay later offers from Paypal that dropped things further if the sales price wasn't enough. Now its back to waiting until next year for big purchases. Not much sporadic buying anymore throughout the year. Extent of my impulse buys leading up to black friday were $10 and under games.

China-Japan tensions keep rising. I thought it was going to be squashed after a day or two, but we're seeing continued escalation via petty policy decisions (discouraging travel, shutting down performances at an anime concert). Not much yet in terms of financial repercussions, but something to keep an eye on. We've seen what happens when volatility spikes in JPY and Yen denominated bonds.

They can, it’s just looking like googles proprietary TPU’s are top shelf shit, plus with their recent track record shows getting to that point of competition might be a ways away. Keep an eye on supply creep, if inventory keeps rising, that can place heavy sell pressure on share price.
