Impossible to really know, but technology doesn’t progress evenly across domains and eras. Quantum computing is a technology that both needs a lot of advancement but also needs to find an application to warrant the expense. Also, AI is sucking up massive amounts of investment and will likely continue to grow in the coming years. Same for robotics. So I’m not sure where the major funding for quantum will come from when investors are already dumping trillions annually into AI and its adjacent fields.
