The year is 2035. Your morning alarm goes off from your Echo Hub. "Alexa: Stop," you say groggily. "Mandatory Wakeup Time initiated. Warning issued," the Echo Hub responds. You sit upright quickly. No one has ever gotten a second warning. The camera watches as you get up and take 2 pills from a dispenser with a digital reading that displays "Amazon Medication #5122." As you sit on the side of your bed holding your head and fighting nausea, the Echo begins lining you out with your new assignment: to form a "human" relationship of trust with Worker 527-655-091-530, who lives in Factory 61613, to ask him if he has any subversive leanings against the Robotic World Order, and to alert the Mechanized Patrol if he does. Of course, you're going to say that he does either way. Why risk your own life by being wrong? Being a human informant is one of the only good jobs left, and it gets you three bowls of Human Repurposing Rations a day. Part of you wishes you hadn't gone all in on AMZN on 2026 and helped the stock get to $120,000 per share. But then again, you were able to use that money to avoid being used as a human shield in the Great Robo Wars. It could be worse. "Alexa," you whisper, standing up shakily. "Permission to exit my quarters... I've got a 'friend' to make."
Me when I leave my echo chamber
I'll buy RDDT when it stops being a liberal echo chamber, and they bring back the emojis.
It can buy a Rogue Echo bike that will get his ass into shape and feeling great
But the algorithms of other sites only show you political content if it believes that you will be interested, meanwhile r/popular and r/all have become politically dominated and lost its diversity. Threads definitely are echo chambers based on the subreddit. I now purely browse subreddits am already interested in and am rarely exposed to different areas of reddit. I can’t imagine being a new user and being presented with all or popular, especially if you aren’t even american.
I like that it’s not a echo chamber circle jerk but there’s some real cringe edgelords too lol
but the quality of comments on reddit has declined. i'm not sure how useful it is, in general. most threads (like this one) are trash. and that's omitting the problem with bias/subreddits becoming echo chambers and etc.
What platform does not have insane amount of politics on it currently? Facebook - political Twitter - political TikTok - political Reddit political? Yes but at least here not everything is an echo chamber. I see viewpoints challenged all the time on here. I think as a whole individuals have less talking power on reddit than let’s say some stock guru who people follow on twitter or facebook. Here on WSB I see left and right, dumb and smart. Politics is unavoidable but closing yourself off from the other side is harder to do on Reddit.
It's a big retarded echo chamber.
its like the opposite of an echo chamber
