Student loans have to be repaid no matter what unfortunately. As someone with 100k in student loans, I don’t think I’ll be getting an exemption anytime soon. Luckily I have a job that I can chip away at this loans. But imagine the millions who don’t have jobs now? Wage garnishments to pay off student loans will Eat into their savings, which means they’ll have less money to pay off other loans. It’ll be a domino effect that’ll spill over into businesses and mortgage loans and could cause another credit crisis similar to 2008. You’re right that we have a worse credit now than 2007. People are way more over leveraged Now compared to back then, esp with all the easy money and forebearance that happened during covid. So do we need a nasty shock like in 2008 to bring everything down? I remember in 2007, people were saying the housing market was overvalued but people were still going about their day like it was an afterthought. It wasnt until the collapse of bear sterns that people realised how deeply inter-connected and insidious this issue was in the credit markets.

stock aside, I think it's sad that Beyond is doing bad, it's a good alternative to those who cannot eat meat for one reason or another, and it being pea protein based vs Soy based is a strength as well. The problem they have is that between pre-pandemic and now is that the flavor changed and now they taste really awful, not to mention lax sanitation in their facilities have led to some interesting problems. That being said, they deserve their current valuation and if you're not shorting it instead of holding it you definitely belong here. I was shocked that anyone was rallying behind this stock.
