honestly if ceo really want to 5x output with the same headcount. It's really easy. Get rid of the all the useless meetings. When I was still working in big tech. Every sprint there were so much meeting with other staff engineer, pm, stake holder, skip. I had to finish all the sprint work before hand during the two days at weekend. Then spent the normal working week on prepare for meeting, review and document meeting, cadence follow up, training junior engineer and interviewing. Actual coding days are maybe 20% of the sprint. If AI should automate anything, automate those useless meeting away and prevent impossible feature promise. We could easily 5x the output with same engineer count.
So much useless meeting if you were to ask the meeting member one week after what happened in the meeting. less than 30% remember. Only maybe 20% write down meeting notes for review later. There is just so much conflict of interest between management and engineers. Management get graded on how much meeting they are having, engineer get graded on code output/bug fixes. But one side get to suck the time of the other side without cost to promote their own career.
Someone here probably said it was a good idea and you believed them. One day Gemini will use a list of who held calls vs. puts to decide how much bug paste to dispense to us, better enjoy that Turkey while you can!
