Electrons are so far from the nucleus of the atom that 99% of every object is empty space.  Zoom in on the nucleus of the atom, where the vast majority of the atomic mass is (it takes about 1,830 electrons to equal the mass of one proton), and the protons and neutrons themselves are made of quarks. Okay, you say, surely the quarks are where the mass is. But this is where relativistic fuckery comes in, because the quarks are constantly moving at nearly the speed of light, so because of mass-energy equivalence, the energy of those little shits zooming around like that is what gives matter most of its mass.  Just like, the fuck are we doing here people?
