I think we're in 100% agreement, actually. I agree with you that in general AI is making the world worse in just about every way - environmentally, economically, culturally - and accelerating us toward a breaking point that becomes more and more dangerous every day. I am absolutely not here to be a cheerleader for AI. I just lost my damn job to it, if I didn't have a good enough reason to hate it before I sure do now lol But at the same time I see things how they are, so when someone is saying "lol at companies thinking AI can ever be useful when all it can do is make slop" I'm going to disagree, because for all of it's faults it *is* genuinely showing transformative potential in like, one or two specific use-cases.
